Install the Qualcomm HS-USB drivers (or Coolpad-specific drivers if provided with the firmware). Reboot after driver installation if prompted.

Open Device Manager and confirm drivers are correctly installed before proceeding.

Right-click YGDP Tool executable and choose Run as administrator. The tool opens showing an empty device connection panel.

Do NOT connect your device yet.

Windows File Explorer showing the contents of the YGDP_Tool_V5.00 folder, including multiple _Download subfolders and various configuration files. A black box and arrow highlight the YGDP.exe file, which features a blue globe and smartphone icon, identifying it as the main application to launch.
Step 2: Launch YGDP Tool as Administrator

In YGDP Tool:

  1. Click Load or the folder icon to open the firmware browser.
  2. For .cpb packages: select the .cpb file directly.
  3. For extracted firmware folders: browse to the folder containing the partition files.

YGDP loads the firmware and displays the model information. Verify it matches your device.

⚠️ Never mix firmware from different Coolpad or 360 models. Even visually similar devices may have incompatible firmware.
Screenshot of a software interface titled "YGDP". The top menu contains options for File, View, and Help, followed by a toolbar with buttons for Config, Start, Stop, and Help. A red arrow points to the Config button. The main window is divided into sections: on the left, a "Cell Download Progress" table lists Cell 0 through Cell 7, all showing 0.00% progress. The middle section displays eight globe icons labeled Cell 0 to Cell 7. Below the icons are tabs for "Common Settings" and "Message Logger", with a prominent red warning banner containing Chinese text that translates to "Will erase all parameters (including NV), please use with caution!". At the bottom, a table shows details such as User: SMT, Download Device, CPB File Path, Resource File Path, and YGDP Software Version V5.00_150927_01.
Step 3: Load the Firmware Package

Power off your device completely. Then:

  • Connect via USB while holding Volume Down, OR
  • Simply power off and connect — some Coolpad devices enter download mode automatically.

YGDP detects the device and shows it in the connection list with a green indicator.

🚫 If not detected: reinstall drivers, try a different USB port (prefer USB 2.0), and confirm the device is fully powered off.

Click Start or Download in YGDP Tool. The tool writes each partition in sequence — progress indicators update per partition and overall.

Total time: 4–10 minutes typically.

🚫 Never disconnect the USB cable or close YGDP during flashing.

On success, YGDP shows Download OK / PASS and the device reboots.

Allow the device to fully boot — first boot may take several minutes. Then verify:

Settings → About Phone → Build number / Android version should match the firmware you flashed.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Common errors and their solutions. Read this before asking for help.

Both are OEM flashing tools used by Coolpad and 360 devices. YGDP is the newer variant and is more commonly used for recent Coolpad/360 models. QGDP is an older tool used for earlier Coolpad CPB-format firmware. The tools are not interchangeable — use whichever matches your firmware format and device generation.

Reinstall the Qualcomm HS-USB drivers. Try both Volume Down + USB method and plain power-off + USB method. Use USB 2.0 ports. Disable antivirus. Run YGDP as Administrator. If the device still isn't detected, confirm your device actually uses YGDP firmware (not QGDP format).

The firmware file is likely corrupt or incompatible. Re-download from a trusted source and verify the MD5/SHA checksum if available. Also try a different USB cable — data integrity errors during transfer cause write failures.

Never miss a fix.
